Broadway in Richmond: Wicked

On September 1st, I had a chance to see Wicked at the Altria Theater as a part of the Broadway in Richmond series. I was completely blown away by the show and it was worth the wait after wanting to see the musical for the past 10 years. Although Wicked is no longer playing at the Altria Theater since the show run ended on Sunday, September 11th, I still wanted to give a review and share more information about Broadway in Richmond and Altria Theater.

For starters, the musical was phenomenal, the cast was so talented and I cannot begin to describe how much I was impressed with everything the musical had to offer. From the cast and crew, music, set design, the storyline and everything in between, I was captivated from beginning to end.

Seeing Wicked has been a dream of mine since I was in high school and I was so thrilled to finally have that dream come true. It been over a week and a half now now since I’ve seen the show and I have literally played the soundtrack on repeat almost every day since! I knew maybe three of the songs before I saw the show, but now I can appreciate the songs so much more now that I know the storyline.

Although the show is no longer playing at the Altria Theater, Wicked is currently on a national tour playing at many cities across the country. As Wicked just wrapped up its run in Richmond, I believe the musical is just about to begin a week and a half long run in Norfolk at the Chrysler Hall.
