Nashville Travel Tips
In my last blog, I talked about a recent trip we took to Dollywood and on that same trip, we continued our adventure to Nashville, Tennessee! Like Dollywood, this trip to Nashville was our first time going and we loved everything about it! One of the things I love the most about traveling, especially to somewhere new, is how you get to learn something new and gain another perspective of something based on the experience. Because of Nashville, I have a new appreciation for country music and its history that I didn't have before.
We only stayed in Nashville for two days but we packed a lot of sightseeing in for those two days! If you are traveling to Nashville and have a very limited time to explore the city, I have a few suggestions to help you plan your trip to the Music City; these tips include ways to make the most out of your time and just a few of the activities I enjoyed the most while we were there!
Go on an Old Town Trolley Tour
My number one tip for Nashville is to go on an Old Town Trolley Tour! Whether you are traveling there for a day or a few days, I cannot recommend this tour enough! The tour goes all around the city in about an hour and a half with 14 stops along the way. No matter what you want to see within the city, there is a stop near the location that you can get off at and explore. You can hop on and off the tour all day long so you can get a ride to the next site you want to visit! The tours start around 9:30 AM and continue to 4 PM.
Another great thing about the tour is that you can hop on any stop along the route and not have to worry about going all the way to Broadway to start the tour. My husband and I ate breakfast at Pancake Pantry near stop 12 and were able to get on easily. Once the tour makes it back to stop 1, they’ll have everyone get of the trolley and have another trolley for you to board.
The tour itself is so amazing and the tour guides make it so fun! We hopped on and off the tour a few times throughout the day and had about three different tour guides. Each of them taught us so much about Nashville and gave a lot of fun facts.. I won't spoil them for you, I promise :) If you’re in the city for a limited time, make this a must-do on your list!
Amazing Nashville Eats
I can’t talk about visiting a great city without talking about the great food! Some of the restaurants we tried were Pancake Pantry, Chauhan Ale and Masala and Opry Backstage Grille. Another place we went to and found delicious food was at the farmer’s market along the Bicentennial Mall State Park; it’s a nice little hidden gem within the city with great food, live music and a couple of places to shop! While we were there, we got lunch at Green Asia and got ice cream at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream!
I’m going to talk more about everything we ate in Nashville so stay tuned for a Nashville food blog in the next week or two!
The Bicentennial Mall State Park
Like I mentioned above, the farmer’s market along the Bicentennial Mall State Park is another place you should check out in Nashville! The park is a beautiful place to walk around and at the top of the hill, you can see the Tennessee State Capitol. Also, the Tennessee State Museum is along the Bicentennial Mall State Park and it's FREE so if you're looking for free things to do in Nashville, this would be a great place to check out!
Visit the Gaylord Opryland Resort
I am not exaggerating when I say that this resort is the most beautiful resort I have ever seen! The resort has so many things to see and do including restaurants, shops and gardens all throughout the resort that are simply breathtaking. We could have spent all day there just taking in the relaxing sights and sounds if we had more time.
The Gaylord Opryland Resort also has an indoor water park called SoundWaves if you’re looking for a water park experience!
I hope you find my Nashville travel tips helpful when planning your next trip to the Music City and I’m going to attach websites links for all the activities we did so you can learn more about each!
